I was looking for confirmation of an old New England belief and found it on your website. Farmers here in Connecticut have always maintained that if you have black snakes on your property, you won’t find any “red snakes” as they call copperheads because of the tendency for the former to eat the latter. Your photos are proof positive of the veracity of their claim.
